Tharn Ravager White Mane

Image 123

Those few beast lords who have survived dozens of hunts and surpassed the odds by outliving their peers become White Manes. These seasoned killers are heroes among their savage tribes. Seeing a White Mane charge into battle inspires Ravagers to a frenzied state as they rush to follow his example. His scarred mien and grisly tokens are reminders of countless kills and many years of hard fighting.

The Tharn Ravager White Mane comes in a blister. A player may field two Tharn Ravager White Manes for each warlocks in his Circle Orboros horde.

While all warmongers can goad themselves into a killing frenzy, some few are strong and willful enough to become war chiefs, rising by strength to lead the converted tribes. Blight transforms each of these horrors into a murderous fiend overcome by hunger. The very scent of blood lends the War Chief strength and he will sometimes pause amid his bloodletting to gorge on fresh kills.

Warmonger War Chief comes in a blister (PIP 73038). A player may field up to two War Chiefs in his Legion of Everblight horde.

Dream Pod 9 ( http://www.dp9.com ) and Steve Jackson Games ( http://www.sjgames.com ) announced an agreement today for a new line of roleplaying products based on DP9's best-selling Heavy Gear.

"The world of Heavy Gear was always intended to support multiple gaming formats," said Robert Dubois, Licensing Manager for Dream Pod 9. "We've focused our efforts on the miniatures line, with Heavy Gear Blitz! ( http://www.dp9.com/Products/HGBLITZ.htm ) We are overjoyed that a publisher with the experience of Steve Jackson Games is interested in continuing the RPG material."

The line will launch with a new edition of Heavy Gear, bringing the Silhouette mechanics to their fourth edition. This core game will contain everything needed to create characters and roleplay in the world of Heavy Gear. Further releases will update Heavy Gear's best-known places and personalities, bringing the story up to date with the miniatures line. New releases will explore military hardware, locations, factions, and the whole universe in greater detail than ever before. The line will primarily be released in PDF via e23. ( http://e23.sjgames.com )

Heavy Gear is set on the world of Terra Nova, over 4,000 years in the future. On this war-torn world, the elite armor units are giant humanoid battlesuits known as Gears. City-states battle for position within their leagues, the leagues battle for control of Terra Nova, and everyone battles against the malevolent Earth forces who are trying to retake their lost colony.

"Heavy Gear has the deep background and rich setting that brings excellent roleplaying," said Paul Chapman of SJ Games. "We're excited to be able to bring the world of Terra Nova to a new generation of gamers, and to support the fans that have been following it for the past decade."

The fourth edition of the Heavy Gear RPG will be released in 2009. Watch for updates at www.heavygearrpg.com ( http://www.heavygearrpg.com ) .

For more information, contact Paul Chapman (paul@sjgames.com) at (512) 447-7866 x207.

From the Wizards of the Coast Website:

Wizards of the Coast today announced new organizational alignment to focus on key growth strategies for core brands.

“As a company, we will continue to be the leader in entertaining the lifestyle gamer,” said Greg Leeds, President of Wizards of the Coast. “Re-aligning resources ensures we achieve this goal for our most powerful brands.”

While restructuring results in some job eliminations, Wizards of the Coast is actively recruiting to fill open positions in multiple areas of the company.

“Organizational change is always difficult on those impacted,” said Leeds. “But we will take great care in the transition, and continue to invest in the growth of the business, specifically innovation for our Magic and Dungeons & Dragons fans.”

would like to Welcome you to
Fall Recruits, September 12-14, 2008
in Lee's Summit, Missouri

We will continue to hold Recruits in the Field House, the location of the past two Recruits conventions on our Lee’s Summit High School Campus. We are really trying to see how much this new spot can hold, so besides these new offerings, you can still count on trying your hand at the figure painting competitions or finding yet another way to fit more games and gear into your storage space by visiting our vendors and Silent Auction.

Recruits is a great little convention. If you don't get the chance, you're missing out on a fun weekend.

The Warmachine/Hordes events being hosted are as follows:

Saturday, Sept. 13th
750 PT WM/Hordes Steamroller 4 Tournament
9-10am Registration
10am or ASAP 1st Round starts.
All models released to the general public are usable

We will take a lunch break between the first and second rounds or the second and third rounds of 30 minutes, only, depending on what the time is when in-between rounds occurs.

Sunday, Sept. 14th
350-500-750 pt Escalating Tournament
9:30am Round 1: 350 pts
10:30am Round 2: 500 pts (keep original first round list).
Noon: Round 3: 750 pts (Keep 2nd round list the same).
Placing will be based upon the third round results.
During the 3rd round, you may pay the additional points for a warlock/warcaster to go epic. In addition, if Epic Eyriss is released, she may be used in the 3rd round if you pay the additional price.

Warjack Bonds will be used in this tournament, starting in the FIRST round- So be ready to roll for ALL jacks and beasts!

We are working with Duane to get the 1st-3rd place prize kits as well as a possible copy of Legends as a prize for the events.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Recently, the SEKGG purchased the domain kcwarmachine.com from a local Kansas City player who has hosted the site for recent years.

However, due to technical problems and a lack of time to host the site, KCWarmachine has been purchased. All content that was appropriate for KC Warmachine was also hosted here at the SEKGG.NET. This way, duplicate information, wasted time, and effort wont duplicated. Hopefully, the users of kcwarmachine will be notified of the switch if the kcwarmachine database is transferred as well. However, I can't make any promises.

If you have any questions, please contact the sekgg admin at admin AT sekgg DOT net.

Jody K. of the Dark Age forums has graciously provided the SEKGG with our first article. His article deals with making bases for miniatures that might be found in a dry, arid, wasteland with a parched or cracked earth feel to it.

Visit the current how-to page to view the article. Pictures will be added shortly, but I couldn't wait any longer to post the article as I was too excited.

Visit the official Website:
http://www.bloodbowl-game.com/

Quote: › Developed by the French studio Cyanide, the video game adaptation of Blood Bowl has all of the characteristics of a traditional ball game, and so it allows you to develop actual tactics and strategies before and during matches.

The game offers two game modes. The first, which is fully real time, offers spectacular gameplay with intense battles between blocking linemen and daring displays of agility of players leaping and dodging through opponents tackle zones, while powerful spells and dirty trick special plays are unleashed across the field. All this creates a highly charged atmosphere. Of course, since it is sometimes difficult to keep an eye on the entire field at once, the game's interface offers different tactical and strategic setups, while the AI is responsible for managing the players on the field.

The second game mode, an actual turn-based game, is a treat for players of the original board game because it is an exact replica of Games Workshop's tabletop masterpiece. The original rules have been faithfully reproduced, and it contains all of the devices, strategies, play and rhythm of the original game.

The single-player experience allows the player to manage a team throughout an entire season of Blood Bowl, through the Old World of Warhammer. The team will evolve over the course of victories, experience gained and awards won. With its immense depth, this mode can almost be considered as a management game, from managing the popularity and sponsorship of players to the purchase and sale of players, as well as their aging, retirement and even death.

In multiplayer, the player will be able to throw down a challenge to other Blood Bowl players and participate in large tournaments over the Internet in order to climb the official ranks.

Blood Bowl will be released on PC and Xbox 360 by the end of year 2008.
